Who are you?

My name is Michael Akon and I am graduating from Fordham University this year with a degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Entrepreneurship. Currently I am working for a Non-profit organization known as Start Small Think Big and FINRA, a private company that helps protect investors in the securities marketplace. When I am not working, I am brand-building and collecting sneakers.

What is a "Sneakerhead" exactly?

A sneakerhead is someone that appreciates the culture involving sneakers and participates in it through collecting, trading, buying and selling and more. The beginning of the culture stems from the 1980s when Michael Jordan debuted the Air Jordan to several other models that came into the culture like Pippens, Barkleys, Ewings and more.

What are you doing in the future?

I hope to move to California this summer and pursue a full-time career in investments regulations. On the side I hope to open my own sneaker boutique business and help others start their own businesses and bring their vision to light.
